4 Easy Steps to Targeted Traffic from Craigslist

I’m fairly certain that nearly everyone has heard of Craigslist.  But do you know how to use it to get more website traffic.  In fact, you can get highly targeted web traffic that buys!

Just in case you aren’t familiar, Craigslist is classified ad site where you can post your classified ads for free.  Anyone can do this (you may have seen the recent stories in the news).

Craigslist has a worldwide audience, including the US, Asia, Australia, Europe, Africa, and of course, Canada.  It is so popular, that it easily maintains a page rank of 7 to 10, no problem.

Making cash on Craiglist is easy because the reason people search their is to find great deals that they likely won’t find anywhere else.  They generally are doing local searches, that is, looking for things in their own city or location such as local goods and services.

Posting ads directed at the local city population where you’re posting can work to your advantage in a very profitable way.  By writing ads that refer to local favorites can easily increase your conversions over ads that don’t mention anything local at all.

The more ads you post, the more conversions you’ll make.  Since automated posters are not permitted, you do have to post manually.  So be sure to place your ads in the biggest cities for the best targeted traffic viewership.

So all  you have to do is:

1. Go to Craigslist.org and create your account for free

Select your city to post in, and click “go” in the upper right hand corner of the page.  Then select your category – most likely services, then small biz ads.  Be sure to select the category best for your posting.

2. Make Your Headlines

Look at some of the headlines already posted.  Make up 15 to 20 of your own.  Then choose one, and enter it with quotes around it.

3. Create the Body of Your Ad

Of course, you must make it compelling to attract attention.  Be sure to include a call to action of some kind, and always put a tracking link in your ad so you can track your results.  Finally, a picture of your product is very effective.  Try to be sure to have an image.

4. Then Post Your Ad

You click continue, and review your post.  Finalize your ad, and your done.  Now do this again in different cities.  Remember, you have to make different ads for each post.  They won’t let you just copy exactly to each city.

Now that was simple.

Post in the major cities with your principle sales keywords, and make your ads compelling.  You will get clicks, and you will get sales.

Now you’re getting more website traffic from Craigslist.
