Is there such a thing as a growing, modern industry that doesn’t change?

Are you prepared to change as your niche and marketing arena morph?

I hope your answers are no and then yes, because if they aren’t… well, I’m going to have to be blunt… but you’re just plain clueless.

This holds true for creating targeted traffic and your efforts to increase your web traffic.  This month, I’ve been focusing on SEO.  This form of web traffic promotion constantly changes as well (though for the moment, the basics have changed little).

For your targeted traffic efforts to pay off, you already know that you need to morph with the changes and maintain your education to succeed.  If you don’t, you fall behind others that create change constantly.

The search engine optimization playing field is always changing.  And you need to be one of the businesses that recognize this.

Chris Crumb (of WebProNews.com) highlighted a number of important things for you to focus on. These really relate to my last “ranting” about misinformation, so let’s dive in….

Your SEO Mindset and Targeted Traffic

What do you have to change about your mindset?  First and foremost, you have to stop thinking in “old school” terms about what SEO is and how it’s done.  As I barked at you previously, much of what people tell you in forums and on other blogs and such places may have been true in 1999 or 2000, but isn’t true today.

You need to ensure you have the right information about what is needed for your website to benefit most from the search engines.

As you build your website, you need to know that these changes are finding their way into the world of SEO, and that many of the things that you “thought” because you didn’t know, because you didn’t get educated, just don’t matter.

5 Little Known Changes Effecting Your Website Traffic

According to the experts at WebProNews.com, these generally little known movements in SEO can be big advantages for you if you are paying attention (are you paying attention?)…

  • The speed your website loads is going to really matter to the search engines.  Faster is better, of course!
  • Personalized searches take a big step.  It used to only matter if you are signed in with Google.  They are taking it a step further — personalized search for anyone using Google, even anonymously!  Your long-tail keywords could be much more important.
  • Emphasis on universal search, meaning all the other sources of search including: Youtube (the number 2 search source), Google Image Search, Google Blog Search, Google News, and Google Maps and Local Search.
  • Frequent changes to Google Local Search
  • And that some things did stay the same, and you have to keep up with them too.

Do you have to focus on these things right out of the starting blocks — when your site is brand new?

The answer is that really vague dodge — It depends.  It depends on your niche, your focus for customers, if you can actually leverage sales conversion right from the start using any of the above changes as a primary concern.

Remember, even though you need tons of targeted traffic to get sales, the conversion is the ultimate priority not the traffic.

Thanks for sharing. Search engine optimization is indeed one of the most crucial areas in Internet marketing, it is a perfect bridge between technology and business….

  2. SEO is constantly changing…what works today may not be as effective a month from now because Google, to a large extent, can change their algorithm whenever they feel like. Relying on Google as a sole means for traffic can be quite deadly for your business if Google again decides to change the way it ranks sites. Just wanted to make that point. Good article anyway for those who do want to optimize themselves on Google.

Thanks for your comment. I certainly don’t tell people to rely solely on Google. But for your SEO portion of traffic, these things are essential to watch out for.

    Thanks again
