Targeted Website Traffic Increase – Using Social Bookmarking (Web 2.0)

Thanks for coming back to YourTrafficStarterBlog. You don't have to guess if I updated, just subscribe to my RSS feed. Don't forget to leave a comment!

Does an increase in targeted website traffic and visitors really have anything to do with social bookmarking?  You be the judge.

The purpose of social bookmarking sites is to provide a space where you can collect your personal bookmarks and share them easily with your friends.  It is a very simple concept.

For you and your desire to market a product online, this can translate into targeted website traffic coming to you for nothing.

Using social bookmarking has two effects:

1.  Targeted traffic from visitors clicking your saved links

2. Targeted visitors from search engines as your site moves up in relevance from using social bookmarking.

Quickly, how does the targeted traffic come to you?

Just like on sites like Twitter and Facebook, social bookmarking sites like stumble upon, delicious, and digg not only let you post bookmarks, but they also let you mingle, post a profile and make friends.

By using good headlines and titles for your link posts, you attract peoples interest.  With keyword phrases properly placed in your titles, you are easily searched and found by targeted visitors that are looking for what you have in your niche.

So if you are using the social bookmark site to connect directly with others here are a few quick tips to enable you to attract highly targeted website traffic:

a.  Complete your profile with a picture.  If your socializing, people want to know YOU.
b.  “Wonder” around the site.  Make friends.  Have relevant conversations.  The more people you know, the more prominent your bookmarks become in the site, and then the more clicks you get.
c.  Be certain you submit to the appropriate category or categories.  If your not sure what categories to use, look at similar posts from other marketers and use the same categories as them.
d.  Make sure you use interesting headlines, just like writing articles and emails.  The key here is still to capture the audience attention, and make them want to click!
e.  Most sites ask for a brief description.  Don’t lie or mislead to get a click.  If you are not true to your description, they will just leave your site when they get there.  Make sure the audience finds what they are expecting.

In the next post, I’ll cover how to apply this to your SEO techniques that will help you gain  position in the search engines.

Thanks for joining me, see you soon

Increase Targeted Website Traffic – Use Anchor Text with Your Back Links

To increase targeted website traffic requires vigilance more than it requires skill.  One of the techniques mentioned in my earlier post was to learn about anchor text.

So what is anchor text?  Anchor text is fancy lingo for the words you are told to click on in a hyperlink to another web page.  For example, if I tell you to:

Click Here for Targeted Website Traffic Video Training

You can see that the words “targeted website traffic” are now a clickable link.  Go ahead and click it, just to see how it is set up.

You notice that it goes to a page that is providing you information about how to get targeted website traffic.  Now, can you tell me what the anchor text is?  If you said “targeted website traffic” you are correct.

Using primary keyword phrases for your anchor text to your links back to your website is very important for the search engines in determining relevance.  The more relevant your link anchor text is to the information found at the receiving end of the “click,” the higher value it has in determining your page rank.

Whenever possible, you want your links placed with highly relevant anchor text (keyword phrases).  For instance, if you are participating in a forum, you want your signature ad to include a link back to your blog or offer, and this link should come from relevant “anchor text.”

The more back links you generate in general, will help increase your targeted traffic.  The more back links with relevant anchor text that you create, the faster your site will move up in the search engine pages for the keyword phrase you desire.

I hope you understand anchor text now.  If not, then simply leave a comment below.  I never leave a blog site without leaving a comment.

Why?  Because it is a chance to get a relevant link back to my site, from a highly relevant place, often using anchor that I desire.

So, I look forward to your comments so I can see your website grow.

Targeted Website Traffic and Visitors – Backlinks from Other Blogs

Remember in my earlier post, I gave you 4 things to consider when getting website traffic from backlinks, item 2 was using other blogs to get backlinks and traffic to your offer.

technoratiSo let’s look at that just a little closer.  You will want to have Technorati.com open in another browser window.  Now let’s see how we can start targeted website traffic flow from other blogs.

Very near the top of the Technorati home page is a search bar.  It searches all the registered blogs in Technorati.  In that search bar, you want to enter your primary niche keyword.  In this case, I’ll stick with bathtubs as in the previous example about business directories.

For my search, I typed in “ceramic bathtubs” (without the quotation marks).  When you click the little search magnifying glass or hit enter, a list of blog articles appears related to ceramic bathtubs.  You can see I got 26 results with my search.

Now, for the best targeted website visitors and traffic, look for the blogs with the highest authority number.  The arrow in the image is pointing at it.  These are the places you want to go to comment on blog posts.

Very simple.

Please, when you comment on blog posts, you should say something constructive.  By being relevant and purposeful, you get other visiting targeted traffic to click on the link with your comment.

That is why you should be leaving a comment below on my post.  It will get you targeted website traffic.

That’s it — really.  Make this part of your work habits to do several times per week, and your targeted website traffic and visitors will build.

Thanks for stopping by.   See you soon.

Targeted Website Traffic and Visitors – Get More from Business Directories

Yesterday I mentioned several methods for creating links back to your blog or website.  So I wanted to take a few minutes to highlight each of these in upcoming posts.  Today, I’ll show you a little more about business and niche directories and the backlinks to get targeted website traffic and visitors.

Virtually every niche has directories of some sort.  And to show you, I selected something

I thought to be a little off the wall — Bathtubs.

Notice in the image that I simply typed “business directories bathtubs” into the google search bar.

And what did I get?  A list of business directories for bathtubs.  Now not all directories will be equal.  As you know, Google is just an electronic “spider” crawling around with a bunch of other electronic bytes.  So not all results will be equal.

But all you have do now, is click and see which directories you can submit to, and do it.  What could be more easy?

If you run out, then substitute “bathtubs” with a related keyword for the niche like “bath fixtures” and see what you get.

Pretty simple.

Now remember, don’t spend hours and hours, day after day doing this.  Just do it periodically, and it will contribute significantly to building your backlinks.

Our economy wasn’t built in a day, and neither will your backlinks be.  This is part of your business, and no business has instant success.  Include this in your business building routine.

That it for today.  Keep building and your targeted website visitors and traffic will keep building too.

Thanks for coming and we welcome your comments below.
