3 Comments » June 5th, 2009 Wayne When I was a young officer, just learning the ropes in the Navy, I would often miss clues being literally handed to me by more experienced leaders. I think you know what I am talking about.
An expert, or very knowledgeable person on some topic you have a passion for sends you a great hint. Only you are too skeptical of what your being told, and you don’t even try it.
Believe it or not, I was this way about getting targeted website traffic using sites like Squidoo, Hub Pages, Weebly, Wet Paint and others. So many ebooks and programs being dropped in my targeted traffic planning path, and I ignored them all.
How ’bout you? Have you started using these “hub” sites to generate blog traffic? These sites are the SEO gods dream come true. Here’s why:
Because of their high volume internet traffic, these sites are Google spider feeding heavens. And, because of this, just having a cheesy Squidoo lens with links and anchor text back to your site passes on real, high quality links to your site that are vital to your search engine traffic flow.
What do you do about it? It’s really so easy you won’t believe it. Just make ten of these sites for your blog. Pick five important keyword phrases you use in your niche blog. Create two “hub” sites for each keyword phrase. Embed links in the pages with the appropriate anchor text and link back to your site. On “hub” sites that allow you to embed your RSS feed — do it!
Then bookmark your “hubs” and ping there feeds.
Did you get all that? Certainly you did. If you do this, your targeted traffic for the keyword phrases will grow. Your search engine rankings will rise and increase your search engine traffic, and you will create a completely free network of targeted website traffic.

Derwin, interesting that you are using a marketing co-op. My whole life before the internet was a big, giant co-op. Everything about flying around a carrier and in military combat operations are a co-op of a massive nature.
So your question is a little unclear, are you co-oping a single site? Co-oping marketing assests to various sites? Are you co-oping money? So that is a bit vague.
But, getting low cost internet traffic targeted for your website or blog, really requires a plan based on what will work best for you. (the series beginning with Flight Experts, The Chosen Ones – What About Your Targeted Web Traffic?).
What will work best for your co-op?
If you are most interested in getting low cost internet traffic and doing it for low cost, you should focus on three things:
You’ll notice each of the above internet traffic generators has a link. It is to the best expert resources on the net today for doing just these things, and doing them right the first time.
The other thing I think is great about these three areas is that, when you are ready, these targeted web traffic sources are easily outsourced.
Now don’t tell me these things cost money, and I only want free. I didn’t learn this for free, and the fact is, if you only want to learn for free, you will have to wait a very long time. If your co-op is really serious about learning the above strategies, and integrating them very quickly then there is really only one low cost, easy to use system available.

The anonymous reader asked how to get traffic without submitting articles.
If you have been following along in Your Traffic Starter Blog, you know that article marketing is one traffic strategy that is nearly universally used by the best online marketers everywhere.
But because it is the most universal doesn’t mean you have to use it.
As you saw in the previous series, getting a plan together to increase targeted web traffic to your blog or website is key. There are at least 20 different ways to get guaranteed web traffic.
I personally don’t recommend you start with pay per click, unless you are willing to spend a lot of money up front. If done properly, and skillfully, you can and will get highly targeted traffic… But you can’t make them buy instantly.
I have repeatedly recommended starting with a WordPress, self-hosted blog and social traffic. I cover this targeted web traffic method in The Great Traffic Experiment. Sign up and start following the video series. This, obviously, does not require any article marketing.

I know many people get to a point, and do so very quickly, where they simply don’t believe they can do something or anything. For instance – create a successful online business because they can’t get or increase targeted web traffic to their website.
So let me share with you just one story (I know there are many worse than this):
You see, after 22 years of great success as a Naval officer, my career abruptly ended. I was lost. I had served in virtually every combat or near-combat situation for the US since1983. My career started with an emergency sailing to the Caribbean for the Grenada crisis as a young officer in the Air Wing on board the USS America. The Grenada crisis was over by the time I got there. But it was the mark of what my life would be like for the next 20 years. I spent twice as much time deployed as the average officer, and always was planning and executing a major crisis or combat right up to delivering special forces to Afghanistan in October 2001, the wake of 9/11.
I allowed the endless cycle of 12 -18 hour days control me, and ultimately my failure led to a massive depression. My life came to a screeching halt 7 years ago. The Navy wouldn’t help me, my family pretends I don’t exist, my wife left. I ended up with no home, no money, no nothing. I had a choice:
1. I could now let the massive, and overwhelming feelings of distraught and hopelessness control me…
2. I could salvage the one thing that I controlled and no one else could – my will to succeed.
I chose #2 – master my will. I was so depressed, and so low, that I could not sleep, had heartburn every day and night, and lost over 40 lbs. You see, I am 6’2″ tall. I normally weigh 195 to 205 lbs. I dropped to 160 lbs. I was dying and didn’t even know it.
After 3 years, and massive self-mind control effort, I reversed the depression. Now it was time to create success for everyone I possibly could. After surviving what I had, I knew I could find a way to success from absolutely nothing. I met my business partner, Daniel Gonzalez – a hero of New York who rescued many in the 9-11 TERRORIST attacks (and has had hip replacements as a result). He also had similar circumstances from a civilian career of public service and survived cancer. Two highly unlikely people, who would be chosen as the proms most likely to fail, set off to succeed in a big way.
So in the big picture, getting massive targeted web traffic has been a big stumbling block in really making my business roll. But in the even bigger picture, it is nothing – just something I had to learn how to do better. I can do it, so can you.
You likely feel very frustrated trying to make things work. But a daily routine of positive self-talk can help you maintain your will to overcome the small, small obstacle of getting targeted web traffic to your site. You can do it, stick with me.
