What Else is Search Engine Optimization? The Secret to Search Engine Traffic

We’ve talked about SEO and search engine traffic before. But like when I was in the Navy, we emphasized repetition of skills and basics to make advanced tactics work the impression of ease. This is a long post, but I didn’t want to break it up. I am going to violate “the rules” and overwhelm you with content. So let’s get started with a closer look…

Search Engine Optimization or SEO is a term widely used by anyone trying to make money online and build a real online profit machine. All of you know that search engines are the most common place for people to go to find the online information they want so bad. And if you are on the first page of the results, you are front page news to the searcher.

It’s not a secret that most people rely on the top ten results (the first page) of the search they just requested. If your site comes up on a desired search in the top ten, then WHAMO you get FREE targeted web traffic straight from the search engine. You didn’t pay a dime!

So I will state the obvious in case it didn’t sink in: You and your website or blog have a bazillion times higher chance of being clicked if you appear on the first page of the search engine results. And this traffic is COMPLETELY targeted for you – if you did your SEO correctly.

Are you still following me? Now this is a fact, once you are there (on the first page results) you must hold on to your ranking. You cannot, and will not stay on top if you don’t keep your website up-to-date and optimized.

What people search for changes over time, and how search engines search also changes. Plus, new players constantly enter you niche! It is imperative to make your site better and better everyday.

Are you still questioning whether you need to use search engine optimization? Well, I’ll give you my bottom line: You need Search Engine Optimization if you want to maximize profit and keep your costs low. Ignore it and you’ll pay through the teeth. It’s that simple. It’s your choice.

With a solid search engine optimization effort, you get the benefit of “magically” attracting high volume targeted traffic. Using the best choice of keywords and keyword phrases you can get hundreds of visitors a day to your blog or website.

If you only convert 1 or 2 percent of these free, highly targeted visitors, you will still be making a profit – remember, you didn’t pay for these buyers. They found you because you did your SEO basics correctly – up front, not as an afterthought.

So what else is SEO? It’s using the right methods, and employing the right tools to keep your blog or website on the first page of the search engines. Now here is another fact: it is neither impossible nor highly difficult. Just get the right knowledge and tools.

In an earlier post, I showed you a method for finding keywords that can get you lots of traffic and put you on the first page of Google in record time – even in the most competitive niches. It’s back in the section about creating content. I hope you paid attention. If not, go back and re-read it.

Getting there and then in the top half, and then staying in the top half guarantees targeted viewers become targeted traffic in high numbers.

If your content is good, they become very loyal and very much, paying followers.

As you start learning your necessary – even mandatory – search engine optimization skills, there is one way I know to start your blog site on automatic. If you are building a blog – and you should be (remember the this post?) then you must get this plug in now. No excuses, it’s free and it works…

Free SEO Plugin

For the fruits of your efforts to “search engine optimize” you have to learn the basics and then maintain an ongoing effort. Your site has to change as public focus changes and as the search engine mechanics change. Your keyword phrases must be updated and your content must be refreshed.

Periodically rewriting your site content with the updated keywords and adjustments for change in search engine activity will be a big part of your site getting to the top and staying there. The rules will change and so must your blog or website if the targeted free traffic is to keep coming.

So lend me your ear, and take note of this fact: you don’t have to be a technical expert, or computer whiz to learn enough SEO to keep your blog and target for tons of web traffic. The single source I know works for everyone is by a SEO expert that knows more about making it easy than anyone I know.

She is Pat Marcello, and she is not a computer whiz or techno geek. But, in her steady efforts to become a master blogger she mastered SEO and search engine traffic in a way that you and anyone can understand – and she will teach it to you.

If you really want to understand Search Engine Optimization from an expert who is really just like you check out Pat Marcello here:

Remember also what I told you earlier about building one-way links to your site. This link building is part of your SEO efforts as well. I won’t explain it here, that is not what this is about. I just mention it again, to remind you that there is a lot more to SEO than just a few keywords.

Inbound links, from relevant sites is essential to your success.

If you are a more advanced reader and need a resource to automate inbound links to your site, then here is the resource that I use on many of my sites:

Massive Inbound Links

As you saw when we started this post, you realized this is about why you need SEO. I hope it sinks in. I started without using any search engine optimization and I paid the price. Learn and use the techniques from the start, and your search engine traffic will start early and stay with you for life.

What better thing than to have major companies like Google, Yahoo, and MSN give you free targeted traffic for life. Learn how to get it from the start.

How to Generate Targeted Web Traffic Using Only Free Methods – Method 1

I’m going to start now with what should be the obvious. A business is a business online or off. What does that mean?

To get your online business running, you are going to have to spend money. So wake up now, and stop the freebie hunting. If your serious about success, then start looking for the right resources to buy first, and as you make more money, add more powerful, high return strategies. If you’re not going to listen, then stop reading this post because you are wasting your time.

This doesn’t mean it has to be all your money, but you will have to spend money. Accept that now, and you will have a successful business a whole lot faster.

That said, the advantage of an online business is that you don’t need massive amounts of money to get started. My business partner and I started with literally nothing. We had no money, no other peoples capital, no homes – we had nothing. So the fact that you don’t have a lot to spend is not a reason to not start a business online.

The beauty of online niche marketing is you can get people to come to you by many free methods and many very low cost methods. Internet traffic is constant and worldwide. There are many ways created every day to capture this traffic for almost nothing.

But here is the bottom line: You can get traffic without taking out your credit card. You will have to spend time doing it. You must have perseverance and determination to generate traffic using free methods. Now, from my perspective, time is money, but if you have no capital resources you must commit the time (i.e. money) up front and be patient so you can generate the return in the end with highly targeted traffic that buys from you.

When the traffic starts flowing, you will feel exhilarated, particularly when you haven’t spent any money. It’s a wonderful thing to see the visitors arrive at your website or blog without out pulling out the credit card all day long.

But before I get into the free traffic methods, I am going to remind you this takes patience. You will get traffic faster by paying for it. That’s a fact. This is a business, and those who pay up front, profit up front. But if you are on a low budget, here are the best ways to get traffic for free or for minimal cost:

• Start a WordPress blog. There is no better website than a WordPress blog website to get traffic coming to you for free. Your blog must be hosted. You must use a good host for your blog. You must get your own domain name. But the traffic will come for free.

Even though Google has it’s own Blogger platform for blogs, the WordPress blog is liked by Google’s search engines and others better than ANY other blogging platform – and the software is free with your domain hosting.

Because of the way the WordPress software works, it literally advertises itself to the search engines atomically. You don’t have to do a thing, and it will be found by the search engines.

This doesn’t mean there aren’t ways for you to enhance this. There are, and WordPress blogs have more free and versatile ways to enhance your traffic flow then any other blogging or website platform.

Reader Request – Optimizing for Getting Return Targeted Traffic

Jesse asked: How do I optimiza my site, site content to get more traffic and have them come back?
How do I target someone who is not only interested in what I write about but also will be a client for me?

Jesse’s Website:  http://www.tiptopwebsite.com/jessemacom

Jesse’s question is what you want too, I am sure.  You want your website or blog to keep people coming back and to buy from you over and over again.

The place to start is The Great Traffic Experiment.  This is FREE video training that tells you exactly what to do, and how to get an optimized website up in 8 minutes or less.

But here is the main problem for getting search engine traffic, and targeted web traffic to the site – the domain name!

You MUST get your own domain.  I use this web hosting service because they have all the right stuff on their servers for you to run any kind of site, and they have excellent customer service.  For Jesse, the domain name has nothing to do with what is being sold.

Change the title.  The title has nothing to do with what is being sold!

My guess is, that Jesse wants to sell children’s books.  There is plenty of targeted web traffic and search engine traffic available for this.  Get everything off the site that has nothing to do with selling children’s books – and I would narrow the books down to a specific category of children’s books.

If gardening is what you want to do, then get everything not related to gardening off the site.  The bottom line is, if you want search engine traffic and lots of returning targeted traffic, you MUST be FOCUSED.

Now don’t be set back, I made exactly the same mistakes.  In fact, if you use my domain name at this blog, hmigroupmoneymaking.com, it is one of the mistakes I made.  It took me a long time to overcome starting with the wrong domain name.  I just want you to get started the right way:)

So Jesse has done a great job of taking action.  Now it is time to get serious.  Follow the guidance of Napoleon Hill – do what the experts do if you want to succeed.  There is no limit.

I usually don’t like to make too many recommendations in one blog post, but here are the very best, lowest cost ways to get your website the way you want it to be:

  1. Start with FREE video training for traffic to your website
  2. Complete this start to finish website traffic training
  3. Learn the simplest, easy way to optimize for search engine traffic

These 3 things are all you need to get your site rolling and turn it into an online business that sucks in search engine traffic and targeted web traffic from many sources.  They are meant to be done in the exact order presented.  They are the very way I used to learn to create a proper online business

If you follow the plan I just laid out, you will save magnitudes of time, and massive amounts of cash, and you will quickly feel like you are on top of the world as your business grows rapidly every day.  Returning targeted web traffic can be yours.

- Wayne Sharer

P.S.  Maybe you’ve got somebody in your life that you can picture right now that thinks you’re a dreamer for wanting to create a successful live using the internet.  I guess if you don’t follow the plan above, they’ve been right all along – you’re just a dreamer.  Is that you? I doubt it… I think perhaps there’s more to you than that, and you just need the right plan.  If so, then follow the 3 steps, and let me and a team of massively successfu internet marketer’s help you.

  1. Start with FREE video training for traffic to your website
  2. Complete this start to finish website traffic training
  3. Learn the simplest, easy way to optimize for search engine traffic

Reader Request – How to Get Web Traffic Without Submitting Articles?

Today’s post on getting targeted web traffic is a response to a reader request.

The anonymous reader asked how to get traffic without submitting articles.

If you have been following along in Your Traffic Starter Blog, you know that article marketing is one traffic strategy that is nearly universally used by the best online marketers everywhere.

But because it is the most universal doesn’t mean you have to use it.

As you saw in the previous series, getting a plan together to increase targeted web traffic to your blog or website is key.  There are at least 20 different ways to get guaranteed web traffic.

I personally don’t recommend you start with pay per click, unless you are willing to spend a lot of money up front.  If done properly, and skillfully, you can and will get highly targeted traffic…  But you can’t make them buy instantly.

I have repeatedly recommended starting with a WordPress, self-hosted blog and social traffic.  I cover this targeted web traffic method in The Great Traffic Experiment.  Sign up and start following the video series.  This, obviously, does not require any article marketing.

I also recently did a series on article marketing and tell you how to article market without doing it all yourself.  Download my free article marketing ebook and learn the ins and outs.  Refer back to the article marketing series in this blog.

And my top recommendation for determining how you should get traffic without article marketing is to use the Easy Traffic Steps discussed in the last targeted web traffic planning series.  This is something you have to decide, and 20 choices are covered in detail.

Until next time, never quit, keep moving forward – an inch, a foot, a yard, a meter, or a mile at time.  Any progress is real progress.

- Wayne Sharer

P.S.  Though I wasn’t real specific here, the request was not specific.  And the bottom line is, no one can tell you which traffic method is right for you, unless they are personally working with you, 1-on-1 and in your website and head.  So the next best thing is Easy Traffic Steps for you to make a well qualified decision.

Web Site Promotion and Relevance – 1 Key to Targeted Website Traffic

How does it feel to have your web site promotion efforts continuously be fruitless?  Look closely – You don’t have to keep chasing traffic.  Let me show you how to focus on the right things for attracting and keeping targeted traffic to your blog or website.

Recall your first effort to create a website, web page, or blog post.  What was it about?  What was it’s message?  Can you pin point precisely what you wanted people to do when they read it?  Do YOU even care?

It is pure fact that information seekers in any niche are looking for relevant content.  Easy to say, and simple to do – right?  Maybe it is and maybe it’s not.  Bottom line is, better relevance  does equal better readership and higher conversion.  It is that simple.

It is time to review closely your content.  By ensuring your content is completely relevant to a tightly focused niche will keep visitors coming to your business site, and they will buy, and buy, and buy.

In every instance, if your blog or web page can answer every search engine querie for your precise niche, then your content is relevant.  This is why I love blogging, particularly with self-hosted WordPress blogs.  It is a platform where day after day, you can become more and more relevant with each new, highly focused post.

Everyone knows that you are more likeable if you are presenting information that of high relevance and value to your targeted website traffic and visitors.  You become more likely to be linked to (a back link target so to speak), if your pages are full of relevant and extremely useful content.

The important thing is, that when  you are creating a relevant web site promotion, it should have just one highly focused goal.  For example, your squeeze page or landing page for your targeted traffic has a sole purpose of getting people to leave their name and email address.

Your sales page has a single purpose of selling one specific thing.

Your blog should have a single focus for information in a very narrow, well defined topic (or keyword phrase) relevant to your niche.

Bottom line is – make your website promotion, in whatever form, relevant!

- Wayne Sharer

P.S.  To get your blog making money, and avoid painful and wasted effort, you need a blogging system that teaches you about relevance in blogging and every other detail about your blog.  It’s and absolute fact that Alvin Phang’s Atomic Blogging 3.0 system does this and much, much more…  What you should know about blogging for cash is right here… get it before you can’t afford it…
