7 Steps to Increase Blog Traffic and Targeted Web Traffic – Steps 1 & 2

Welcome back. As I mentioned in my previous post, I am going to introduce you to seven surefire ways to increase your targeted traffic today. So let’s get started…

1) Learn the ins and outs of Social Traffic (web 2.0).

Today’s online crowd is filling up the Social Web 2.0 sites. Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, Youtube and others are massive gathering points for people of all ages. There are people there interested in – well – just about everything!

The easiest and fastest social resource to gather targeted traffic from is Twitter. There is almost no one that hasn’t heard of Twitter. And almost everyone is on it including news channels, politicians, global corporations, actors, marketers, and all kinds of social addicts.

Even if you’re a social “reject” you can exploit the targeting powers of Twitter using your blog and the many Twitter tools available online. Any other social site worth a penny, allows you to import your Twitter feed directly into the site. The power of Twitter for free-targeted web traffic and targeted blog traffic is unmatched. It is imperative that you get online and master Twitter Online Systems today.

2) Build one way back links to your site.

To be recognized by the major search engines (Google, Yahoo, and MSN), you need to appear to them to be important to other sites. One of the biggest measuring sticks of your importance is the number of one way backlinks coming from other relevant sites of your niche. Two-way exchanges are antiquated and just really are a waste of your time.

Your efforts need to be focused on getting relevant one way backlinks and there are a number of ways to do this free. Posting comments in relevant blogs, posting your link in niche directories, and using your social bookmarking sites to save links back to your relevant material. Without these links, you will never see the traffic you deserve from the search engines, no matter how good your site is.

This truly is a case of “the more the merrier.” It’s that important.

In my next post, more of the 7 fundemental steps. See you next time

P.S. If you are really serious about getting real traffic on automatic, and don’t have time for backlinks, then you will want to use this outstanding resource (I use it on most of my sites and it works!). It puts you in backlink competition with the big guys, and keeps you there automatically!

5 Powerful Website Traffic Generation Ideas

website traffic generating
Do you know why some websites rank very well in the search engines and why others do not? Well we will be revealing in this article five ways in which you can generate massive website traffic to your website and rank highly in the major search engines.

1. Write articles for your website, for article directories and for topic-related blogs; you can do a Google search to find the URLs of these article directories. Publishing articles with your name and a link to your website is a great way to get credibility in your industry and with your customers. It will also bring new customers to your site.

2. When writing your website content you should strive for a keyword density between 3% and 5% to attract the attention of search engines and the clients you want but not overdo it to the point where your site may be considered a spam or artificial site. Keyword density is always expressed as a percentage of the total word content on a web page. Let’s say you have one hundred words on your web page (not including HMTL code), and you use a keyword five times in the content. To find the keyword density on that page, divide the total number of keywords by the total number of words on your web page (5 divided by 100 = .05). Because keyword density is a percentage of the total word count on the page, you need to multiply your results above by 100 (.05 x 100 = 5%). Remember: You need to apply this calculation to every page on your site.

3. Joining a network or web ring will give your website visibility, recognition and traffic. Look at Webring and Bravenet to consider some of the web rings you can join for free that relate to your business, your industry, your interests and more importantly, the interests of your customers. You can also establish your own web ring for a fee.

4. Learn about search engine optimization, even if you plan to work with a web designer. You can find free resources online or buy a book so you can dig into the methodology. Find many useful tips about keyword searches and design your keyword references and tags to satisfy the most common words people use to search for your products.

5. Research and analyze your competitor’s websites. Unlike proprietary business plans and reports, competitor websites are public and with a bit of analysis, you’ll learn what they are doing to attract customers and traffic. Whether you consider a business to be a direct competitor or not, if they are doing something well and their search engine rankings are high, try to figure out what they are doing and how you can learn from their presentation.

So start today implementing these five ideas and you may be pleasantly surprised with the amount of website traffic you generate for your website and the higher search engine rankings your site achieves
