So I left off without any connection to targeted web traffic. Well it’s my life, and in my life, targeted website traffic has existed for only a couple of years.
So here I am, a college graduate from an expensive school that I didn’t pay for (though I did have to get student loans to pay for my room and board). Plus, I am now a commissioned officer in the Navy. A big life change.
Off I went to flight school in Pensacola, Florida. I had a rough time there. I am not a pilot, by the way. I was a Naval Flight Officer which means I was a designated naval aviator for conducting missions in flight in multi-crew aircraft.
I got to Florida, and was nearly kicked out before I ever got started. I was told I was not physically fit to fly (I had an ulcer when I was 4 years old (which has now been shown to be a virus caused condition, despite what you think)), and that I should have never been allowed to come there. Despite that I was 100% healthy, the mean flight surgeon was determ
ined to send me packing.
Well that didn’t happen, and through many tough battles, I completed all the flight school stuff, and went on to become a Naval Flight Officer in the E-2C Hawkeye aircraft.
I had an exciting career, and worked with many great and fascinating people – both enlisted and officers (though most of the enlisted were more fascinating than the officers). Throughout my career I served on many aircraft carriers including:
- USS America
- USS Enterprise
- USS Nimitz
- USS Kitty Hawk (2x)
- USS John F. Kennedy
- USS Theodore Roosevelt
I served in many conflicts and war (call them what you want – it all seemed like war to me)
- Cold War
- Raids on Libya (Operation El Dorado Canyon)
- No-Fly Zones over the Philippines (Yes, we had a no-fly zone over the PI)
- Operation Desert Storm
- Iraqi No-fly zones (4x)
- Bosnia
- Kosovo
- Somalia
- Afghanastan
Just to name a few (there were more, but I am getting tired of remembering them). But all that conflict and war was also exhausting and depressing. During that time I was stationed in Norfolk, Va; San Diego, Ca; Ft Leavenworth, Ks; Sierra Vista, AZ; Pensacola, Fl; Yokosuka, Japan. I got the privilege to visit countries on every continent on earth (except Antarctica – no one lives there), and sail around the entire world (it was no cruise!)
I had many challenges, one that nearly ended everything was being married to a drug addict who refused to do anything for herself, and then maliciously tried to destroy my career, everything I owned, and take every cent I had. She managed to take everything from me before I was smart enough to divorce her. That was a depressing time, and it really made me dig in and work harder in the Navy so I could hide from the depression of real life. I don’t think I ever recovered from that depression until I was out of the Navy.
I survived that time, and went on to massive success in my Navy career. I ultimately commanded an E-2C Hawkeye Squadron which was the greatest time of my career. The sad thing was, that I had spent 3 times more time deployed than most of my peers, and I was going down the tubes – and I didn’t know it (I thought I was invincible).
I ended my career, losing everything again, losing a second wife (actually, she ditched me – I was a cold, emotionless mess). Depression had a firm hold, and I didn’t know it. I lost everything I ever had. I ended up with no home, no family, my fine siblings not even acknowledging my existence.
But I emerged, though with no home, no job, no credit, no money in the bank, about 10 belongings, no one even considering helping me (not even my brothers and sisters). But I found my will, my emotions, and my true inner power to be faithful to myself, to believe in anything I choose to accomplish, and to persevere no matter what.
And this is where I found targeted website traffic (almost)…
Hope I haven’t bored you yet, but next comes the secret to making an online business from nothing.
