Why am I going back to writing on the basics of generating targeted traffic?
Answer: Too many people jump to the advanced tactics, fail miserably at them, then start calling every “guru” online a scam.
Since I’ve created the single largest site online dealing solely with targeted trafficgeneration, I KNOW it’s important for you and everyone to master the basics before your begin.
So I’m really going to start at the beginning with a lesson on the importance of getting highly targeted traffic to your money making website.
The fact is, putting up a website doesn’t automatically guarantee that people will come pouring into your site from all over the world. This isn’t like those infomercials where the guy with the magic knives is faced with throngs of money-waving buyers, dying to own a knife that cuts through stone.
You’re going to go beyond the question you can already answered and look closely at the challenges of getting endless targeted website traffic. And your input and problems WANTED here! Send your comments and questions below, then…
You’ll also uncover the one thing that needs to be in place before you ever go looking for your first customer to your site.
There are many ways to get more website traffic to your website. Some are free, and some are paid. Some have fast results, and some you have to be persistent for to reap the targeted traffic benefits.
There are many more than this, but here are 5 simple ways to get more targeted web traffic to your blog, and you can put them to work today.
Build a list. This really should go without saying. If you are in business, online or off, you need a customer list to truly realize your full profit potential. If you don’t have one, then put an opt-in form on your blog so you can capture names. Include a valuable offer, and compelling attention grabber to attract your readers.
Post your signature. What? Post my signature? Yes, that’s right. Simply find the forums where your niche hangs out, and steal targeted traffic by posting replies to popular discussions. Don’t forget to create your signature file with a brief ad for your best niche offer.
Be a widgeter. What’s a widgeter? They are mini applications you can put on your blog where you share advertising with other niche users and consumers.
Create your blogroll. This is the list of favorite blogs where you can exchange links with your friends in your blog or niche networks. This draws attention to your links and sites from other niche or related blogs.
Be really social. You must get your own accounts at places like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and the many, many more social websites. These places really bring more website traffic that is highly targeted, and you are missing out if you haven’t learned to leverage them.
There are many more methods to get targeted visitors to your blog, but these five are among the fastest, easiest, and most profitable to implement. Put them to work today, and increase your online traffic today. More targeted visitors means you have more eager buyers.

If you’re seriously working a budget, and you need to convert your time into highly targeted traffic…
…or just want to get more website traffic free, then you need to use this great resource. I’m sure you’ve heard of Yahoo, but have you ever been to Yahoo Answers?
Yahoo Answers is where tons of people gather up and congregate in Yahoo, and they ask all kinds of questions about — well about anything at all! You can find people of all ages, backgrounds, nationalities who want to know something about every niche on the planet.
You only need to get your free Yahoo account and then head on over to Yahoo Answers. Then just start answering questions with useful answers, and you’ll quickly start siphoning the web traffic to your site.
It works a lot like a forum. The more questions you answer with credible, useful responses, the more targeted visitors you get back to your web page. Your credibility will continue to grow in your niche, the more you answer questions.
Making Money from Yahoo Answers
One common thing people ask questions about is the best products to use for particular problems in your niche. When they are asking questions about what product to buy, it’s like walking in the door with your wallet open, your checkbook in hand, or a credit card ready to swipe!…
This is your perfect chance to go ahead and make a recommendation and send them to your link to your product, review page, or affiliate link. I personally think the best place to send them is to your opt in squeeze page, so you collect their names and they become your subscriber and customer.
Yahoo Answers Spammer
You do have to be careful about overdoing the placing of affiliate links. This is why using a review page or opt in page is best. You can place these pages on your web site, or in your blog as a blog post, and drive the eager readers and buyers there.
So don’t go crazy with affiliate links in Yahoo Answers, or you may not be welcomed back.
Finding the Best Questions
This is easy in Yahoo Answers. Do a search in questions. Use the advanced options, and make sure you only search for open questions posted no longer than 7 days ago. The old stuff is really no good. Plus, newer questions gives you the opportunity to be voted as the best answer more readily.
Look for questions where it makes sense to refer them to a product. Other good choices are ones where the answer can be found in your blog, and you send them to your blog post on the subject.
When answering, don’t just post a link! That will get you kicked out fast, and you won’t get any credibility. Write concise, well thought out answers that people will say hmmmm, to and really like what you have to say. Use your website, or blog post as a reference.
Do this repeatedly and the traffic will start to flow.
Yes it takes time, but if you are on a low budget, you will build up traffic over time. The more answers you have, the more targeted traffic comes your way.
One of my main targeted traffic mentors, Bill McRea, showed me this tool on Saturday (I think it was). I took a quick look at it, and pretty much instantly knew that this is a real life saver when it comes to saving time, and implementing my backlink strategy correctly.
This tool is in beta, and has a 11-day free trial with an extremely reduced cost service for the massive amount of time it will save you in building tons of targeted traffic backlinks.
If you don’t have a backlink strategy in place, you are a long way from every seeing any significant amount of search engine traffic (unless, of course, you love the expense of ppc traffic).
Traffic-Bug is not free, but it is a necessity in my opinion. The time saved, the power structure built automatically, and all the features below, and in the video above make it a mandatory part of your targeted website traffic machine. This will increase your targeted website traffic!
Summary of the Power of this Targeted Traffic Tool:
Traffic Bug
Automatically bookmarks to 43 sites – no getting accounts
Rotates IPs automatically for submissions
Rotates submission titles
Conservatively expands your backlinks endlessly
Auto-submit your RSS feeds
Auto-submit to major niche directories
Timed Saved So far for me (3 days use): 15 1/2 hours
Value to me: $2,700
(this is not an affiliate program – beta prices can end any time, so you better hurry if you want to get maximum value from the tool.)
I have done a lot of work on reviewing new programs, studing new techniques, and just buying and testing new products (I returned a couple after just 5 minutes).
Some will be good, some not so good.
During the week, I covered a lot on viral video marketing. What it is, and how you can increase your chances of making a video go viral.
But really, what are the chances of a video going viral?
I had one that was pretty viral in my old YouTube account ( the one that got closed for no reason). It had over 25,000 hits. I don’t know why.
Since then, most of my videos have been mostly viewed on this blog. I have started using some of the techniques that I covered – or should I say uncovered – during the week. I hope you have looked them over and put them into play. I wrote about them because they were the most sound and easy to implement that I could find.
No trickery, no crazy catches.
I hope in a couple of weeks to have a report to see if there was any change in the number of views I got on them.
I though t it was great, and you should see how many hits it has!
But do you think you really can control if a video in your marketing goes viral and brings you a ton of targeted website traffic? Can you increase your blog traffic with a single video? What do you think?
I have my own opinion, but what’s yours? Tell me in the comments below.
Watch this video to the left. What made it viral? It was to sell video games. Very interesting. I wonder, did it sell and video games?
I know for a fact you can and will increase your blog traffic just by putting video on your blog. And you definitely get more targeted traffic to your websites or blogs by using video syndication. So I definitely know it is worth the effort. The question is, how much more can I really get?
